"The Rotary Club of Corpus Christi is well known for providing
informative, timely, and interesting programs. Therefore it
came as no surprise that they invited Stroke Scan to give a
program at one of our meetings last July. At the end of the
presentation when they offered to do a screening for anyone
interested, I signed up. Two weeks later, tests at the screening
revealed considerable blockage in my left carotid artery. I was
strongly advised by Stroke Scan to visit my primary physician
to confirm what the preliminary tests had found.
Taking their advice, I followed up with my own physician who
conducted simple tests and found an abnormality in my left
carotid artery. He then ordered more extensive tests that
confirmed the original findings and verified that my left carotid
artery was 75% blocked. These results were sent to a thoracic
and cardiovascular surgeon who recommended immediate
surgery. Two weeks later I underwent successful surgery on
my carotid artery.
Now, a little over one month later, I am on the bandwagon
urging everyone I know to get checked. It is a painless
procedure that will only take about an hour out of your life. I
now realize that in my case it prevented a stroke at the very
least, and may well have saved my life. You can be sure that I
will be having this test done once a year as part of my regular
medical exam."
Sincerely,
Carl Kuehn
"I put off your stroke scanning service for several years as I have heart disease and I am under the
continual care of a cardiologist. I already have 5 stents - I figured my cardiologist would be "on
it" if I started experiencing plaque buildup in my carotid arteries. I was wrong! At the
insistence of my wife, I did the Stroke Scan this year and the scan detected a moderate to severe
blockage in my right carotid artery. I took the pictures you gave me to my cardiologist and he
immediately contacted a vascular surgeon. Further tests confirmed a 95% blockage. Within 2
weeks, I successfully underwent surgery to remove the plaque.
I am very thankful that we had the scans done and that they detected the blockage. The surgeon
remarked after the surgery that my artery was in very bad shape and it was close to becoming
closed entirely. Neither my cardiologist nor the vascular surgeon could detect any blockage
with a stethoscope, even after the blockage was confirmed. If we had not done the scans at our
park, my life could have taken a serious turn down a terrible path.
Please {be} rest assured, I will urge all my friends and neighbors here at the park to participate in your
Stroke Scan screening. Opportunity only knocks so many times. I feel like I was given the gift of
a future."
Sincerely,

"My name is David Brooks and I live in a small town in Missouri called
French Village which is about 60 miles south of St. Louis. I spend the
winter in Donna, Texas at Country Side RV park.
The middle of February Joey Wyatt and his staff came to our park to
run a Stroke Scan-test for anyone that signed up for it. My wife and I
decided to get the tests because these were tests that we had never
had done. They did the scan on my carotid artery in my neck. I
noticed that he took a lot more time with me than the others. When the
test was done on us, Joey wanted to talk to us. The news was
shocking, he told me that I had a large amount of blockage in the left
carotid artery and moderate in the right side. This was very disturbing
to me because I had no idea there was a problem. Joey said I needed
more tests. So through VA and a lot of red tape with VA, I went to
McAllen Medical Center for more tests. Attached to this letter is the
results. On March 15th, 2011 my left carotid artery surgery was done.
Plaque was built up so bad that the artery wall was so thinned out they
had to put a patch over it. Two days in the hospital and then home. I
am feeling better than I have in a long time. I didn't realize that I felt so
bad until after I had the surgery. I had no real symptoms that there was
a problem. I can't emphasize enough that I had no symptoms. This
stroke scan that was given by Joey saved me from having a stroke and
health problems. So please be smart and have this done."
Thank you and hope you listen

"Dear Sirs,
In October 2006, while having scans performed by Stroke Scan in
Portland at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, a blockage was found in my
left carotid artery. I was given results immediately and informed that I
should take those to my cardiologist. Dr. Ormand checked them and
prescribed an angiogram to be done. The angiogram showed an 85%
blockage in that artery. On November 15, Dr. Tovares performed surgery to
clean out the artery. I was released the next day and I believe that the work
done by Stroke Scan saved me from a possible stroke.
My most sincere thanks go to Stroke Scan personnel for their great work."
Sincerely,
Gary Chessnut
"As a result of your screening test that I had done on Jan. 19, I was told I needed to seek medical help. I quickly made an appt. to see a cardiologist. They confirmed that the plaque was severe (98% blocked) in my right carotid artery. They also discovered that I had 4 blocked arteries on my heart. Only 20 days from your screening, I had the carotid artery cleaned out, and 4 bypasses on my heart. I had been experiencing dizziness and throbbing in my head. I thought this was due to high blood pressure. Since my surgery, these symptoms have disappeared! Thanks to your screening, a potential stroke and heart attack was avoided. My grateful thanks to the Stroke Scan team and the good work you are doing to help people stay well."

“I go to my Doctor every year in Iowa before we leave for Texas. He always listens to the arteries in my neck, and
always says the same thing, and I quote….”You are just fine.” Since I was having no symptoms, I felt confident. Well, this time he was wrong. You, Joey Wyatt (lead technician) found that one of my carotid arteries was severely blocked. (Later found to be 95% blocked). I have since had the blockage repaired and I am feeling great! I am so thankful to you for saving my life!”

"Two years ago, I was replacing a door hinge in my home. Without warning, I fell to the floor and could not get up. The next thing
I knew, I was in the hospital suffering from a massive stroke. Two days prior I had a terrible headache. The Doctor found that one
of my carotid arteries was completely blocked and a blood clot that broke loose was the cause of the stroke. If I had only known
about the these tests, I would have had them sooner. I urge everyone to get screened soon!"

Dear Stroke Scan, Inc.
I am at Raymondville R. V. Park. I had the abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) and the peripheral arterial disease (PAD)
tests done on February 12. I wish my wife could have had this test four years ago. Maybe she would be with me today. On December 7th, 1998 she went shopping. She came home at 5:45 P.M. We talked about our I.R.A. account, which
you have to draw part of it out at 70 1/2 years of age. We were talking about investing it, but we decided to apply for a
motor home. She coughed twice. I said, “Mom are you ok?” She did not answer me, so I went over and put my hands on her
shoulders. She did not respond. I called 911 and they said “Get her out of the chair and give her mouth-to-mouth.” I did and
they were there in five minutes. They gave her shocked her heart and took her to the hospital. They pronounced her dead
at 6:15 P.M. with a ruptured aortic aneurysm.
Yours Truly,
Wendell R. Smith
Dear Stroke Scan , Inc.
We have Stroke Scan, Inc. to thank for my husband having a second chance at life. On February 14th he had a color-flow
Doppler ultrasound, screening exam of the carotid arteries at Southern Comfort R. V. Park in Weslaco, Tx. Two years ago,
He had it done and both sides were mildly blocked, but this time you found the right side had progressed to severe.
We saw a cardiologist the following Tuesday and he was scheduled for a coronary angiogram the next day. Dr. Morales and we
were shocked at the findings. He had two 100 % blockages, two 95% blockages and five 90% blockages. He had surgery
performed by Dr. Bracomontes on the 22nd and he had to do a five-way bypass and repair one area below the bypasses.
Then, proceeded to do an angioplasty on the carotid artery. Thank goodness he was in good physical condition, he didn't
have any other health problems to work against him. Dr. Morales said he could have had a stroke or heart attack at any time,
and either would have been fatal.
So we're thankful he had an angel sitting on his shoulder. Thanks to all of you at Stroke Scan for the good work you are doing.
Sincerely,
Don & Pat Wilson
